## How Viome protects your data

  

*   To ensure confidentiality, we separate users' personally identifiable information from their personal health information.
    
*   Viome never provides your information to your employer or to your health insurance company.
    
*   Viome does not share your individual-level information with any third party without your explicit consent.
    
*   Viome's guidelines and policies protect the personal information of children as well as incapacitated or deceased individuals.
    
*   We do not provide information to law enforcement unless we are required to comply with a valid subpoena or a court-ordered request.

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. Passed in May of 2018, GDPR is designed to protect consumer data and ensure privacy for all individuals within the European Union.

Viome is committed to your privacy rights and we make it easy for you to start the process of consent withdrawal. ### I live outside the E.U.—can I take advantage of GDPR too?

  
Depending on your location, there may be different requirements for how your data is  handled. While the specific features of GDPR may not be available to you if you live outside the E.U.or EEA, (For example, if you live in the United Kingdom (“UK”) the Data Protection Act 2018 (“UK GDPR”) and if you live in Switzerland, the Federal Act on Data Protection in Switzerland (“FADP”) will apply) Viome's overall privacy protections  in compliance with the applicable DPF Principles as set out in Viome’s Privacy Policy found at [https://www.viome.com/privacy-policy](https://www.viome.com/privacy-policy) will always apply.

Viome’s State Privacy Notices apply to residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, Utah, Nevada, Connecticut, and Washington and contains information required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), the Colorado Privacy Act (“CPA”), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (“VCDPA”), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (“UCPA”), the Nevada Data Privacy Law (“NPL”), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (“CTDPA”), and the Washington My Health My Data Act (“MHMDA”), as amended or replaced from time to time (collectively, “U.S. State Privacy Laws”).
